Visas are required for entry into Tanzania for British citizens(there is a charge for this). If you hold a passport from another country, or a British subject passport, check with your local Tanzanian embassy regarding visa entry requirements. A certificate of vaccination against yellow fever is required for entry into Zanzibar.

Local departure taxes apply. The main currency accepted throughout the island is US$, and local currency is only obtainable locally.
